Deep Questions

Because Jesus is not just one more religious teacher.

He did not only give good advice or explain a better way to live.

He claimed to be the way to the Father. He claimed to be the truth. He claimed to be the life. He forgave sins, gave eternal life, died for sin, and rose from the dead.

That is very different.

Christianity is not mainly about people trying to climb up to God by becoming good enough.

It is about God coming down to us through Jesus.

That is the difference.

We do not save ourselves.

Jesus saves.

This is a serious question.

And I will not pretend it is emotionally easy.

Only God knows every person fully. He knows where someone was born, what they heard, what they understood, what they rejected, what they searched for, and what was truly happening in their heart.

But the Bible is still clear about certain things.

Jesus is the only way to the Father. God is perfectly just. God is merciful. God wants people to be saved. No one will be judged unfairly.

The honest answer is this:

Salvation is through Jesus, and God will judge perfectly with full truth, justice, mercy, and knowledge of every soul.

That should make us humble.

And it should make us serious about sharing Jesus.

This is one of the hardest questions.

And honestly I do not think every painful situation can be explained with one simple sentence.

The Bible does not pretend suffering is fake.

Pain is real. Death is real. Evil is real. Human sin is real. We live in a broken world.

But Jesus did not stay far away from suffering.

He entered into it.

He was rejected, betrayed, mocked, beaten, and crucified.

He knows suffering from the inside.

So Christianity does not give us a God who only watches pain from a distance.

It gives us Jesus who stepped into suffering, carried sin, went to the cross, and rose again.

I do not understand every reason why God allows every painful thing.

But I do know this:

And suffering does not have the final word in Jesus.

Deep questions are not just about what we think. They also reveal what is happening in our hearts.

So when facing hard questions, it is also worth asking yourself:

• Am I asking because I truly want truth?
• Am I willing to follow the truth if God shows it to me?
• Am I looking for answers, or looking for reasons to avoid God?
• Have I actually looked at Jesus clearly?
• What if the real issue is not lack of evidence, but resistance in my heart?

That does not mean questions are wrong.

Honest questions matter.

But the heart behind the question matters too.
