Foundations of Following Jesus

This is the most important foundation.

Christianity is not mainly about religion, church culture, rules, or knowing Bible facts. It is about knowing Jesus personally.

It is walking with Him, trusting Him, receiving His love, coming back to Him when you fall, because we all fall sometimes, and letting Him lead your life.

A real relationship with the Lord matters more than anything else because everything begins there. Without that relationship even spiritual things can become empty.

You do not force yourself to love Jesus.

Love for Him grows as you come to know Him more clearly, understand His love more deeply, and walk with Him honestly.

That is why this whole site exists. Not just to give information, but to help people see Jesus clearly and truly grow closer to Him.

Love is one of the deepest foundations of following Jesus.

Not fake love. Not only nice words. Not just feelings.

Real love that comes from God.

What a gift it is to be loved by the Lord Jesus Christ personally. He sees us, knows us, cares for us, calls us, forgives us, and still invites us to come near.

When we look at Jesus, we see what love truly is.

He did not only speak about love. He showed it. He came for us, served, healed, had mercy, told the truth, went to the cross, and gave His life for our salvation, forgiveness, freedom, and eternal life with Him.

That is not small.

That is everything.

God’s love is not weak or fake-soft. His love is holy, truthful, patient, merciful, powerful, and deeper than we can fully understand.

And when His love starts changing us, we begin to love differently too. We see people differently. We forgive differently. We serve differently. We stop living only for ourselves.

Love matters because without love, even spiritual things can become empty.

But when we begin to understand the love of Jesus, it changes the heart.

The Bible is not just an old religious book.

It is the Word of God.

It reveals truth. It reveals Jesus. It teaches us, corrects us, exposes what is false, and helps us know God more clearly.

Reading the Bible is not meant to be pressure or forced religion. It should become something deeper - a desire to know the Lord, a love for His truth, and a hunger to understand His Word.

Through Scripture, we learn more about God’s character, His love, His holiness, His mercy, His justice, His promises, and His heart.

God has given us the opportunity to read, learn, understand, and grow through His own Word. He has not left everything mysterious and unreachable. That is mind blowing.

And this is one reason The Simplified Gospels are the main focus of this site. If we want to know Jesus clearly, we must come back to the Word.

Prayer is one of the main ways we grow in relationship with the Lord.

It is not about sounding perfect. It is not religious performance. It is real connection with the living God.

In prayer we come before Him honestly. We thank Him, ask for help, repent, listen, and bring our thoughts, fears, questions, sins, pain, and needs before Him.

Consistent prayer can truly change a person’s life.

Not because prayer is a technique, but because God is real.

The more we spend time with the Lord, the more He reveals, corrects, comforts, strengthens, and shapes us. Prayer affects the heart, the mind, peace, joy, direction, faith, humility, and the way we see everything.

We often underestimate prayer because we are distracted by daily worries, noise, tasks, and earthly things.

But in prayer we are invited to come near to the almighty, all-knowing, living God.

That should humble us.

We are small. Our faith is often small. But He still calls us to come near.

The Holy Spirit is not just a feeling or an emotional moment.

He is the Spirit of God.

He leads, teaches, corrects, comforts, strengthens, convicts, and helps followers of Jesus walk with God.

We cannot live the Christian life by our own strength. We need the Holy Spirit.

He helps us understand truth, turn away from sin, pray, grow in holiness, and become more like Christ. He changes the heart and leads us closer to Jesus.

Without Him faith becomes dry, powerless, and self-made.

With Him we can begin to live the way God actually calls us to live.

We are not meant to walk alone.

We need people around us who truly love Jesus. People who live in faith, have walked with the Lord through highs and lows, and have learned things through real life, not only theory.

We need brothers and sisters who can encourage us, correct us, pray with us, help us, and point us back to Jesus.

This matters because faith can become weak when we stay away from others.

We need people who help us stay close to the Lord. Not just people who talk about God but people who are actually walking with Him.

True fellowship is not just social life. It is spiritual support, encouragement, accountability, love, truth, prayer, and walking together toward Christ.

Following Jesus is not only saying the right words.

Real faith follows Him.

Obedience does not save us. Jesus saves.

But if we truly trust Him, our life should begin to change.

Obedience is not about trying to earn God’s love. It is a response to His love.

It shows that we are not just hearing Jesus, but actually taking Him seriously.

Many people want Jesus as Savior but not as Lord. However Jesus does not call us to admire Him from far away.

He calls us to follow Him.

That means surrender, trust, repentance, and letting Him lead.

Sin is not just “bad behavior.”

Sin is the deeper problem in the human heart.

It separates us from God, corrupts our desires, makes us choose ourselves over Him, and damages our relationship with God and with people.

That is why Jesus did not come only to make people feel better. He came to save us from sin, forgive us, cleanse us, restore us, and give us new life.

If we do not understand sin, we will not understand why we need Jesus.

And if we do not understand why we need Jesus, we will not understand the Gospel clearly.

Forgiveness is at the center of the Gospel.

We need forgiveness from God because we have sinned against Him. Sin breaks our relationship with God and we cannot fix that by pretending it does not matter.

But Jesus came to forgive, cleanse, restore, and bring us back to God.

That is mercy.

And when we have received mercy from God, we are also called to show mercy to others.

Forgiving someone does not mean evil was okay. It does not mean there are no consequences. It does not mean you must trust someone immediately or let them keep hurting you.

But bitterness cannot rule our heart.

Unforgiveness can make us hard, proud, angry, cold, and trapped in what happened.

Forgiveness matters because Jesus has forgiven us more than we fully understand.

We forgive because we have been forgiven. We show mercy because God has shown mercy to us.

And when we forgive, we are not saying the pain did not matter. We are giving it to the Lord and choosing not to let darkness rule our heart.

Jesus said we must be born again.

That is not just becoming a slightly better person. It is new life from God, a changed heart, a new beginning, and a life that starts moving toward Him.

Being born again means God does something deeper than self-improvement.

He gives new life through His Spirit.

The old life no longer rules in the same way. A new life begins.

Not perfect overnight, but real.

A person who is born again begins to see differently, desire differently, repent differently, and follow Jesus differently.
