Matthew shows us The King who is full of mercy and truth.

Matthew matters because it helps us see both who Jesus is and what He calls us into.

He welcomes sinners, but He also calls people to repentance.

He teaches about the Kingdom of Heaven, but He also goes to the cross to save us.

He speaks with authority, but He also comes close to the broken.

This Gospel reminds us that Christianity is not just knowing religious ideas.

It is coming to Jesus, listening to Him, trusting Him, and learning to follow Him in real life.
